Emily Angwin is a journalist for Seven News in Melbourne. She began her career as a reporter at the television network in August 2011. Emily was recently given a senior role as the court reporter, so you’ll often see her around the Supreme, County and Magistrates’ courts. If she’s not there, Emily can be anywhere from covering bushfires, floods, crimes, major events like the Spring Racing Carnival, or even the Zoo. She can be seen on the national morning or afternoon news, as well as the 6pm Melbourne bulletin.
Before beginning her television career, Emily got her break radio in 2008. Her first opportunity was at 3AW radio, through work experience at university. Emily completed a Bachelor of Communication (Media) in 2008. After completing a short internship, Emily worked casually at the AM station. She then spent almost two years working full-time at Nova FM, as an assistant producer for Hughesy & Kate’s breakfast show. This was followed by 18 months at MTR and SEN radio stations. She worked as a newsreader and on-the-road reporter for Macquarie National News.
When Emily isn’t on the news, or consuming the news, she’s following her beloved Collingwood Football Club, or trying to train her naughty Cocker Spaniel puppy, or planning her next trip overseas.
